Benitoite, 0.61 carats emerald cut

£1,700.00

Eric says: “I love the hue and brightness of Benitoite. One of my latest acquisitions. Benitoite is rare blue gem found in the San Benito mountains of California, USA. Discovered in 1907, thought to be sapphire owing to its intense blue, the gem was determined soon after its discovery as a new gem species. Specimens rarely find their way on to the market.

This gem is 0.61 carats, emerald cut, measuring 4.7 x 3.9 x 3.6 mm. having a lovely blue colour reminding me of Sri Lankan sapphire, another favourite gem of mine. This gem is eye-clean in clarity and is unheated”.

For the gem enthusiast (gemmophile!) who is looking for a rare, unusual ,beautiful precious stone.
